TeamQuest Alert

Monitor system and application performance with multi-system monitoring software

TeamQuest Alert monitors activity throughout the data center and watches for problem conditions that could impact services. TeamQuest Alert is used to:

  • Monitor services across the entire enterprise and report on events
  • Spot and report impending problems before they impact service levels

  • Operating systems: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows
  • Virtual environments: IBM PowerVM LPARs and WPARs, Solaris Zones, Containers and LDOMS, VMware ESX and ESXi
  • Databases: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and Sybase
  • Web servers: Apache, IIS, and others
  • Network devices (routers, switches, etc.) via SNMP
  • Network traffic between tiers
  • EMC Symmetrix

TeamQuest Alert is a system performance console that highlights the health status of a large number of heterogeneous, distributed systems. It automatically evaluates server and application performance based on built-in rules of thumb, and displays text and color performance indicators. Once a problem is detected, users can drill down to related performance information and user activity for rapid top-down analysis.

Product Features

Monitor your entire enterprise from a single display

  • Monitor systems and applications with the Java interface from the desktop of your choice
  • Scale from one to hundreds of systems without losing ease-of-use
  • Group systems for hierarchical analysis
  • View reports from heterogeneous systems in a single consolidated report

Use built-in performance guidelines

  • Evaluate performance using easy-to-understand rules of thumb
  • Rely on built-in intelligence regarding normal and expected system behavior
  • Compare key system information to guidelines
  • Reveal unusual system activity quickly and easily

Identify performance problems at a glance

  • Analyze systems and application performance, including Oracle, DB2 UDB, and Web server
  • View current status with color and textual indicators
  • View system properties with a click

Manage performance with alarms

  • Establish alarms to proactively watch for dangerous trends in system performance
  • Send an email, call a beeper, or send an SNMP trap to your management console
  • View alarm counts by severity for groups of servers and specific alarms for individual servers
  • Drill down to find the root cause of events, alarms and unusual situations
  • Chart alarm information to see how affected parameters tracked at the time the alarm occurred

Further explore problems to find the cause

  • Launch a performance investigation directly from the system status summary display
  • Drill down from high-level overview to statistical charts and activity reports of active processes
